Personal Symbols

When you are done with this book, you will have your very own symbols journal. This journal will contain symbols and meanings that are relevant to you personally, in your own life. This is important because not everyone views things the same way. Personal symbols hold power for each person. What is powerful for me may not hold the same weight for you and vice versa.

Take a moment to imagine your childhood home. First, you might see the overall shape or design. Then, maybe the color. You might also jump right into specific rooms. The main idea here is that it’s your house, not mine or someone else’s. Because of this you are able to conjure up the image from your memory. This image then may become your personal symbol for a house, or it may be your new symbol for childhood.

Alternatively, if you see algae floating at the bottom of what appears to be an ocean, it may represent one of the millions of different types of marine flora that exist. To me and most other people, it just looks like plain old algae, because we don’t have a million different species stored in our databank.

Years ago, I was in a remote-viewing class at one of my favorite schools, the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, and we were doing an exercise. Coordinate remote viewing was started many years ago by the United States government as a top-secret, psychic espionage program designed to determine the validity of psychic ability. David Morehouse was one of the government officers recruited into this program, which was called “Stargate.” In his book Psychic Warrior, Morehouse quotes the program’s director as saying, “What we do here is train selected personnel to transcend time and space, to view persons, places, or things remote in time and space … and to gather intelligence information on the same.”

In order to do our assignment at Omega, we needed to transcend time and space, and see, hear, and feel everything we could at a specific location that we were given random coordinates to view psychically.

As we worked throughout the week, I psychically saw many things, but one that stood out to me was a man’s foot in a sandal. Now, you might think that’s pretty obvious; it is a symbol for a shoe. At first that’s what I thought, too, but the real answer wasn’t so obvious. In fact, it threw me off for the rest of the session.

My mind shot off in a million different directions. “A shoe, what could it mean? It’s a sandal; what could that represent? But, there’s a foot inside the sandal. Let me move up a bit. I see a bare leg. It’s a foot. I’m also seeing sandy dirt under the shoe. There’s a bit of white fabric, like a toga. Well, the foot is prevalent so it’s got to have something to do with the foot. I’ve got it; it has to be soccer. Wait, what’s that image now … I’m seeing an old stadium, maybe in Greece.
